Proofreading & copy-editing for businesses and organisations

Editing e.g. English-language website copy – including AI-generated translations – to ensure it is linguistically correct, highly readable and appealing to the target audience.

German-to-English translation

Translation from German to UK and US English, with a focus on producing accurate translations that sound polished, natural and professional, and that take into account cultural specificities. Where appropriate, I use AI technology to produce a rough draft, thereby lowering costs for clients.

Experience

I have fourteen years of experience as a professional translator and proofreader including five years as a full-time employee of Volkswagen AG, where one of my key responsibilities was translating documents for the Supervisory Board.

Fluency and eloquence

I hold a first-class degree in English (University of York, UK) and am sensitive to the nuances of the English language; I love creating texts that flow and sound natural.

Attention to detail

I completed an apprenticeship in proofreading and copy-editing at a publishing services company in Cambridge, UK and subsequently worked as an in-house academic editor for two years. I am truly a stickler for detail and pride myself on upholding traditional copy-editing principles.
